In March 2017 James Murphy was named ‘best for tummies’ in Tatler magazine’s Cosmetic Surgery Guide.
Mr Murphy graduated from medical school in 1992 and began his surgical training in the same year. In 1996 he became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and 2001 was awarded the higher postgraduate degree of Master of Surgery (ChM) for research at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Buckinghamshire. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery, (FRCS (Plast)) in 2002.
Consultant Career
In 2004, Mr Murphy was appointed to the position of Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at the prestigious Christie Hospital in Manchester. He started in private practice at the same time and, in 2010, left the NHS to concentrate his energies on full time private practice, establishing Manchester Plastic Surgery, for which he is now Medical Director.
