Alastair Lewis was appointed as a Consultant General and Vascular Surgeon in 2007, and subsequently became an Honorary Lecturer in Surgery at Queens University, Belfast and member of the Court of Examiners at the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland.
Mr Lewis maintains a special interest in vascular surgery and has extensive training in keyhole and cosmetic vein procedures which he obtained in both Dublin and London. A Fellow of the College of Phlebology and member of the British Association of Sclerotherapists, Mr Lewis currently performs over 500 keyhole varicose vein operations annually. He has been performing thread vein treatments for almost 10 years, with over 150 successful spider vein treatments carried out each year since 2014.
Mr Lewis is now a full time venous practitioner, working part time in the NHS and the remainder privately. He has built a large experience of laser and radiofrequency ablation, surgery for complex or recurrent veins, foam sclerotherapy of varicose veins and microsclerotherapy for thread and reticular veins on the legs, face and other body areas.
