Hilal Bahia is a UK-trained, fully accredited (GMC) Consultant Plastics and Cosmetic Surgeon, consulting at the Spire Murrayfield Hospital in Edinburgh as well as the Plastic Surgery Unit based at St John’s Hospital and the Edinburgh Breast Unit at The Western General Hospital.

He has a special interest in a wide range of cosmetic procedures including breast reduction, augmentation, symmetrisation (and reconstruction), abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), correction of prominent ears, rhinoplasty (nose surgery), removal of skin moles, cysts, skin cancers, improvement of scars, as well as non-surgical facial rejuvenation.

Educated in the UK, he graduated from The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1991 (MB BCh, BAO, LRCSI, LRCPI), followed by a year as an Anatomy lecturer before completing his basic surgical training and becoming a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 1997.

He undertook two years of research, gaining an MD degree and has published widely in the medical and plastic surgery journals. He completed his specialist training in Plastic Surgery in Edinburgh, and Glasgow (Canniesburn) passing the Plastic Surgery specialist exam FRCS(plast), after which he undertook an Oncoplastic/Microsurgical Reconstructive Breast Fellowship in Newcastle.
