Mr. Bruce Richard provides a general plastic surgery practice as well as further specialising in the treatment of children, young people and adults with facial deformities as a result of cleft lip and palate or other birth defects. His research interests focus on the cause and treatment of cleft lip and palate and facial nerve reconstruction and he holds an honorary senior lectureship at the University of Birmingham in order to supervise some of these research projects.

Mr. Richard qualified in 1980 from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, London and then completed 6 years of general and plastic surgery training. He has a strong commitment to improving health in less developed countries and following the completion of his training he moved to Nepal where he lived and worked for 9 years.
