Professor Davis is a recognised expert in the management of patients with hip and knee problems that require surgical replacement. He is an expert in the use and development of computer navigation and robotics, which improves the precision in which these operations can be performed. He is a self-confessed perfectionist, which first led him into the field of computer navigation and has now led him into the field of robotics in an effort to improve the outcomes for his patients. He performs a wide range of different replacements using different techniques and different types of hip and knee replacements to match the requirements of individual patient needs.

Professor Davis is also an expert in revision hip and knee replacement. He sees patients who have worn-out or painful hip and knee replacements and uses a number of different procedures, including the very latest techniques and materials to restore patients function.

Professor Davis holds his NHS appointment at the prestigious Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham and works in the world renowned arthroplasty unit, which was made famous by the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing. His chair (professorship) is at the University of Birmingham, which was awarded in April 2015.

Professor Davis graduated from Birmingham University in 1996 and undertook his basic and higher surgical training in the West Midlands. He undertook a year’s fellowship in revision hip and knee arthroplasty in Toronto, Canada.
